Ericson 32-2 shaft and strut questions

I have 1969 Ericson 32 hull # 111, glad to know I'm not the only one that loves these old girls. Quick question about your prop shaft, did you need to drop the rudder to change the shaft? I have a shaft change coming up and want to be prepared. Do you have the specs on the cutless bearing Outside diameter of the bearing for the strut and stern tube? Any info you can pass along is greatly appreciated.

Amazing - your hull is one before mine, #112! I’m in the middle of my fifth section of balsa core replacement, this time on a 7.5 square foot trapezoidal area of the forward part of the foredeck.

My A4 installation seems to be unusual in that I have a Vee drive, and everything associated with the engine installation is different - the engine is reversed, the shaft is short, only 3/4” diameter, etc. The Cutless bearing is the “ABLE” model, 3/4” x 1.25” x 3”.

I have the same odd engine / Vee drive setup, not only hard to work on on its own but then 1/2 hidden behind the galley sink. I cut the sink part of the counter off and rebuilt it as a screw on piece so I now have full access to the engine bay
