After two record breaking days of heat to melt the last of our snow (it was 23C yesterday, but only about 18C today, with nice 7-10kn winds), I finally got the little boat out for a sail. Sorry, she's not an Ericson, but she is vintage, an early 70s "Sea Bat" UK made dinghy similar to a SunFish. I've decided that if we don't find a boat within 2-3 weeks, we'll just buy the first one that is suitable for coastal cruising for a year or so.
Here's a few photos. I sailed around Saanich Inlet East from Mill Bay toward Brentwood Bay/Victoria Airport, then North to Cherry Point, before returning to Mill Bay. Some big gusts are blowing now, so I'm glad I decided to cut it a bit short after watching the skies, or I might still be out there.
I only saw one other sailboat, a ketch off in the distance. And one E27 on a buoy in Mill Bay.
Leaving Mill Bay, very sheltered:
Kicking back waiting for the wind...
There's some wind!
A pit stop near Cherry Point
