Thanks so much for your continued support of EricsonYachts.org!
Now I am not pretending to be able to Single Hand or anything close but am seeking the experience and have the strength and grit to be an asset. Plus I am an older but capable 62 year old. Please let me know your thoughts.
I know it is fairly hard to get on a participating boat, but it is not impossible! If you know someone - even better. If you are available and prepared close to race time - life happens, people get sick, have to tend to family emergencies, can't leave work. I think if you are motivated enough and make yourself available and capable (Safety at sea certified, first-aid, etc) and known to skippers and crews. It is possible.
Great info so thank you. I have posted in my yacht club as well but from here it is a long haul down the coast. This is a good exercise for many reasons. Appreciate your help.
Oh! Just looking at the Crew list. It may be easier to get on the ride back! However, it's upwind and possibly 3+ weeks. BTW I have never done either to nor from, but I am a proud member of the Richmond Yacht Club and have talked to many who have. I am told it's a great experience!
