How many later 31's were made?
Dear friend, There were 49 of the later hulls laid up but two were never completed so the answer is 47 hulls. Hulls 01 through 25 were called the Cruising 31 but with hull #13 skipped, there were only 24 of them. The Independence 31 came into being as the result of Ericson contacting many Cruising 31 owners and asking for what changes they'd like to see made to the boat and a viola, the Independence was born.
