I have a San Juan 21 and we enjoy this boat. We spent 8 days sailing around the San Juan island with my wife and 8 year old daughter. We loved it, but the space was a bit tight, so we're looking to go a bit larger in boat size. We still need the function to trailer the boat from Oregon up to the San Juan Islands. I've narrow the search down to an E25 or a CD 25. But I'm open to other boats too.
When buying a used Ericson 25, what should I look out for? Are there known problems and weaknesses in boats made 74-80' that I should pay attention to?
With the E 25 what's the drawback to the short stern pocket for the outboard motor mount? Seem a bit low...
Motor..... Outboard vs inboard....? seems like the outboard would be much simpler and fewer headaches... Pro and cons?
Trailers.... would this trailer work? This for sale posting claims...
"Tandem boat trailer- adjustable for 19 to 27 feet power and sailboats
was used for a 23' sailboat. Fully configurable for smaller and larger boats.
Hydraulic brakes on all 4 wheels.
The weight limit is probably around 10K."
