Hi Everyone,
I've been a reader of this website for several years. I bought my first Ericson, a 1988 38-200 "Carpe Diem" in May of 2014 from a seller in Long Beach. I've since relocated her to Marina Del Rey.
I know this boat came from MDR originally both by the hailing port being painted over as well as a fellow sailor in the marina yelling at me that he "knew that boat."
So this post is really a 2-parter. First, thanks to everyone on this website for the great information. It was instrumental in making my decision to purchase an Ericson, and she's been great. Second, does anyone in the LA area know of this boats history? The PO did some great upgrades to her as well as kept amazing records. I have the original user manual, blue prints, etc. and was blown away to find all this.
I've since done some great projects on this boat and hope to now contribute to this great forum.
Looking forward to being part of the community......
