My hatch slides on plastic runners, and over the years they began to deteriorate. For $10 a plastic shop cut me new acrylic strips, which went on in ten minutes.

A small thing, but a remarkable change in the smoothness of the companionway hatch, the roughness of which I'd never actually noticed.

I only replaced the exposed runners, not the half that runs under the sea hood, which wasn't damaged by UV.
