Non-skid for a lazarette

On the E38, the curve of the hull inside the big lazarette makes standing or crawling around down there difficult.

I painted on a section of non-skid, which much improves the experience.

But making a neat job of it is difficult, since you cannot paint under your own feet, and the steep angle of the hull makes for gravity drips and runs.

Next time I would use non-skid adhesive strips. Easier all around and replaceable.

That is on my list of things to do as well. I have some Treadmaster type material laying around that I am thinking of using.

The space under our cockpit is one contiguous volume that feels wasted. I'd like to break it up to provide areas of storage, but no good ideas have come after sitting down there staring.

Is the E38 like that as well?

Yes, with everything sloping downhill. I use bags, which can be secured with an open mouth, or filled and lowered so they have tension on the drawstring.

The PO installed heavy plywood compartments in lazarette and helm locker, for storage and to keep things from falling into the steering.

I took them all out because they ruined access.

It must be the season... I started to launch into a lazarette make-over last week, but then my table saw decided to go on strike and I had to send away for parts, and the project started getting pretty recursive.
