Rigging guide O34 and general?

Hi folks, I've done a quick search through but can't find: can anyone point me to any information on standing rig tuning for an O34. I know how to center the mast but would appreciate any advice on recommended tensions for the various members. I did this back when I was young using using Don Casey's book, but I figure perhaps times have moved on since then. Also, Anyone in LA have a gauge I could borrow for a couple of weeks? Thanks very much!

Hard to guess at unless you are a rigger and do it every day. Once you get it centered and hand snugged you can get close by using a a standard open end wrench. Equal turns on opposite shrouds until it's tight enough that the wrench starts to hurt your hands a little. Wait a day or 2 and recheck. Then go sailing 12-15 knots of wind , check for slack in lee shrouds and fine tune. Highly suggest having a Loos gauge though. Then you tighten to 15% of wire breaking strength. Go sailing then recheck tensions with gauge. I have not had to fine tune under sail when using the gauge and 15% rule. Just recheck tensions after a couple of sails and then all good. I'm presuming you have stranded wire shrouds ? Rod rigging may take a little more oomph. Loos gauges for rod rigging are a little pricier too.
