Sail Slide Stop (for Kenyon Spar)

During the off season, while the mast was laying on saw horses in the yard, the sail slide stop disappeared. I suspect that someone who lost theirs overboard snitched it but that is neither here nor there.

I got a quote from Rig Rite for a new one. Scroll down to see a picture.

Anyone care to guess what they want for a new one? The price combined with a 3-4 week back order spurred me to cancel the order.

Anyone have an idea for a substitute?

Seems like you couild make a rough substitute from a SS tang. Instead of the spring loaded pin, drill and tap a hole in one end and use a machine screw as a pin. The screw could be locked in place with a nut tightened against the tang.
