Seizing shrouds to spreaders

I'm looking for advice about how to secure the shrouds to the spreaders of my E32-3 to prevent the dreaded "spreader droop". I've seen suggestions to use cable clips above and below the spreader, and this would certainly prevent droop, but what about holding the wire into the groove? The Kenyon spreader ends were designed assuming that the spreader would be wired into position. If using clips, shouldn't there also be wire? It would be a bad day if the shroud on the leeward side hopped out of the groove!

Can someone direct me to a diagram showing the correct method of seizing the shrouds to the spreader?
