? Settings for faria tach 32842 on m25xp?

I replaced the tachometer on my e34-2 with a faria euro 4K diesel model 32842.
My engine is a universal m25xp with original ? Presto alternator.

does anyone have experience with and know the correct settings for this tach ? I set it to “4” and it reads high. I have not adjusted the fine tune yet .

I replaced the tach on our 34-2 a few years ago and found that the best/easiest way to get the new tach adjusted was to use a hand held tach. The one I bought on Amazon came with some reflective tape that goes on to the main crank pulley. With the engine idling you shoot the pulley with the hand held and then adjust the tach to match the reading on the hand held.

I have been using an iPhone app called “video tachometer” which is working great for measuring the engine speed off the flywheel. It’s the tachometer settings im not sure about —- which base setting to use , and how much can I fine adjust
