Sourcing "Eye End" for aft lower shroud turnbuckle

JP in Sandusky

E38 on Lake Erie
Short version, I prepped the mast for re-stepping this past week. TWO of the turnbuckles were missing from the shrouds when I unwrapped the mast. We managed to source one from some misc part bins. (Slightly different, but just slightly)

I am currently hunting for what I believe is called the "eye end" for the Navtec aft lower turnbuckle for my E38. (7/16", and it does look exactly like the standing rig specs found here in the resources page. This is the end that goes through the u-bolt and is pinned.

So far, I have called the yard that unstepped the mast. I have asked the yard that has the mast to talk with their rigger. I have left a couple of voicemails with RigRite.

Does anyone here have more suggestions on how to find/source an "eye end" or terminal end for my lower shroud?

if its a Kenan mast check with Dwyer they have quite a extensive list of parts from several manufacturers. if unsure of who made the mast look closely at base of mast and for clues to who made the mast. Dwyer has dimensions and shape of masts to find your particular mast. Good luck!

Thanks! The message a the top of their website leads me have some doubt. I will still reach out to them tomorrow, though.

"* As of April 1 2026, Dwyer is no longer producing custom masts or offering retail / wholesale parts sales *

Dwyer branded spars for C420, FJ, and ISCA sailboats are available via Zim Sailing"

I have a call in to Rigrite, as their website is a little confusing to me. (also, man!, those prices.) I also stumbled across this source:

I have no idea if these are quality. I know of two places in Cincinnati that could manufacture the part, I think, but I am not sure about a 1 week turn-around.

Thanks for the link @gabriel . In truth, for a female end, I am a little fuzzy on what "left hand" vs "right hand" thread means. :egrin: I know what I think it means, but I have never needed to order a nut/female side and specify the thread direction before.

What I wouldn't give to be less than an hour from the boat!

Call Rigging Only. I think they have some parts not advertised on their website. They have been extremely helpful on my projects.
