Starter Motor wiring

Ericson 35 Mark II, Yanmar 3YM30: Replaced the starter motor, can't figure out the wiring. The solenoid has two threaded post & 1 spade fitting. Cables to connect: 1 power cable, 1 cable from starter & 2 red wires from cable harness with circle connectors.

Does this help? Wiring diagram, color codes and legend are on pages 92-94 of that Operation Manual. Typically, the solenoid will get power (12V+ and maybe ground) and starter motor will get large cable power and is commonly grounded to the engine through the mounting bolts.

It‘s an old photo because I‘ve changed my start battery config so I can’t look at my current setup.

Starter switch goes to spade terminal. Large post gets battery + and alternator +.
