I've attached a link to a video I made of how I fill the alcohol canisters for my Origo (knockoff) alcohol stove. I use an inexpensive digital scale from Harbor Freight. I like this method because I don't have to check periodically while filling to see if I am getting close to or at the full mark. The technique also makes use of Loren's genius "soup can with a hole in it" method for filling--to good effect, I think.
You'll have to excuse the bit of sloppiness here, but I had one hand tied up trying to hold my cell phone while making a video of this. Normally I can do this without any mess, but there was a slight mess here. But in any case, that's unrelated to the use of the scale.
