Hey, have any of you folks been down to see the construction on the new Tacoma Narrows Bridge? Wow! It's pretty cool from the road, but you should see it from the water side! It is a once in a lifetime sight! Harold

Did you get any interesting pictures, Harold? I heard it was something to see when they lifted the new roadway sections into place!

Attached (for the out-of-towners) are images of the new bridge and the 2nd bridge, and the first, famous 'Galloping Gertie' bridge, which we've all learned about...

No pictures, but hopefully I'm not too old to remember.....I did find it interesting that whomever loaded the the sections on the transport ship mis judged the clearance, and they could not get the ship into position even at a minus tide. Somebody must have had some explaining to do.:headb: Harold
