Water Witch Bilge Pump Switch Trouble

I have a problem with the Water Witch Bilge pump switch keeping the pump running constantly despite the water level being lowered enough to get just at or below the bottom contact. Does the water level need to be all the way below the lowest contact? If so, maybe I need to raise it a bit?

The Water Witch website has specs per model. Some mount 1 inch above residual water level, some mount at residual water level.

Thank you. I raised the switch a bit and all is well. I thought I had accounted for enough depth but apparently not. Turns out the strum box doesn’t allow as much water removal as expected. Loren’s turkey baster trick was the final solution for a dry bilge.
