Universal 25 Engine Shutdown cable?

My Engine shutdown cable is old and really stiff, does anyone know a replacement part? its a Universal M-25XP on a Ericson 23-200.

I assume a tele-flex cable would be a good replacement but what length?? I tried to measure without pulling the whole thing out and it appears to be roughly 8-10 feet long?

If anyone knows the correct replacement or aftermarket part I would be very grateful -:)

Cheers ~ Peter

Every diesel tractor has one, so Google will show many choices. I feel strongly the knob should say something like "Stop Engine," rather than "Launch Missile" or "Open Seacock." Otherwise there is nothing to decide other than the connection to engine (what's the current connection look like?) and the length.

I changed the the stop cable on the 32-3 and it was much more gratifying than expected.

My cable was about 3 feet too long. But it's just a stiff wire running through a jacket, so easy to cut to length for less friction.

Thank you all for your help and sorry for the long delay with my reply...... I found the part number on the sheath of the cable and ordered one online. It's a Morse Cable btw.

Thanks again - Peter

Peter,
I haven’t been able to find the part number on mine. It would be great if you would share that part number here. . .
