Curtain choices

Dear lord,
I have big decisions ahead and i need some advice from our group. The admiral comes for an inspection of the E-27. Im in full blown project mode right now. Big mess from drilling holes all over, tools strung out, assorted piles of carefully selected job specific fasteners and bits of many projects going on at once like all running rigging replacement, single handed mast stepping system, addressing deck leaks, port light leaks, new anchor and rode, etc.. Admiral sits on settee and says what a disorganized mess you have here! My reply was making headway on boat, almost done with my list of projects. She says you better get a move on or we wont be sailing till late fall. I agree and say Ill get this stuff done ASAP! I WANT TO SAIL NOT JUST FIX STUFF! She then says these curtains just gotta go! I agree totally, they remind me of old man boxer short material, but i think another project to start and finish! Simple project some rectangles of cloth i think, use old tracks and old tape with snaps and slides. What color, what type of fabric, how much light blocking, pattern, etc? My boat is dressed in green canvass with dark green boot stripe. So i want to maintain the green theme down below. Any suggestions on the type of fabric for curtains would be appreciated very much! The quickest path to making DIY curtains is with "snap-on tape" which you can sew onto the fabric of your choice.

Sailrite includes UV resistance as one of several options for sorting through their fabric selections. Also, note that window treatments and fabric selections for RVs generally work equally well for boats, so "Auto & RV Fabric" is a good place to start searching on Sailrite.com.

I remade the curtains on my 1971 E29 with Sunbrella. Pacific Blue. The old curtain sliding rods where toast so I removed them all. I use 1/8 inch bungy cord in sew in pockets on the top and bottom of each curtain. I then installed tiny SS Straps to stretch the bungy cords and hold the curtain in place. It worked.

It is simple. don't overthink it and have fun with it. I had to hand sew on all the slides - no tape or snaps - and still enjoyed the whole experience.
This was an "outdoor upholstery fabric" and seems to be holding up fine.
