Diesel to fit in E29 without modifying cover height?

I know this is a late reply, but hopefully useful to somebody. I think the E29 and E27 have similar dimensions in the engine compartment. I have a 1976 E27 with that same engine (Volvo MD6B) and it fits under the unmodified engine cover. There is one thing to look for that might be a variable...

wanted: RH prop with 3/4" bore

HELP: I am looking for a RH, 2 or 3 blade prop with a diameter in the range of 11" to 13", and pitch in the range of 4" to 6". The shaft bore size is 3/4". This year I decided to try something: I have been suffering the consequences of motoring with a LH prop on my E27 witch has a...

    Espar Furnace Installation

My furnace is installed, and it turned out much better than I'd hoped. Here are some pictures of how I made a cover for the furnace, which is mounted in the transom 'well' l'.

    Water in the cabin

besides a "taste test", is there an alternate way to determine if the bilge water is fresh or salt? (like say for instance, litmus???) (no way am I gonna touch my taste buds to the crud in my bilge!!!) :p

Do I need to sail to a muffler shop ?

    >What type flex are you using. Remember that there is extreme heat and there should be no leaks as this would KILL you if below when the engine is running< Hmmmm....that is a good question. I haven't gotten to that point yet. I was envisioning the type of flexible exhaust pipe seen on older...

Do I need to sail to a muffler shop ?

reinventing the wheel I am embarking on this same path, on my E27 which has a Volvo MD6B 10 hp diesel. The engine ran poorly last season and seemed unreliable. Began going through likely causes. Injectors tested OK. Fuel lift pump worked, but was original so I rebuilt it with a new diaphragm...

    Home Built (?) Hard Dodger

I would like to be included in any response to this thread, because it has been an interest of mine as well. Here in the Pacific North West, the weather is often wet when any consistent wind blows, and a hard dodger sounds like the way to go.

Ericson 36C and Volvo Penta diesels

Thanks for the input!. It seems that the lift pump may have been the culprit, because the engine seems to run better now...but I havent taken her off the dock yet to put this to the test. I plan to install a RACOR 2 micron fuel filter before the lift pump to ensure the fuel is crystal clear...

Ericson 36C and Volvo Penta diesels

Well, since there has been no reply, I guess everyone is out sailing. If anyone still reads this forum, here's what I've done so far: I removed the injectors (there are two) and had them "pop tested" which refers to the pressure of the fuel which causes the injector to pop open and spray the...
