Cutting the head off a mushroom through hull should not be on the list of possible arrangements. Whether bronze of marelon, it needs its structural strength to avoid disintegrating in the continual flexing that takes place as a boat rides on waves. Flush through hulls were invented for a reason.
That is rough. I hope you were at least able to save some of your most valued, if not most valuable, possessions.
When I used to watch the fires east of San Diego I at least had the reassurance that I could head out to sea if necessary. None of it was ever anything like as bad as what is...
They were Lewmar, and yes.
I am currently on another continent but when I get back to the boat next week I will find out what sizes I bought.

The only reason I can think of for screwing in the sea cock flanges is to prevent them rotating, which will not need much torque so screwing them into the backing plate ought to be ample, leaving no need to make extra holes through the hull. It is what I was set up to do before my project...
I have a few originals which I have replaced, so may be able to supply a replacement if you need one or two.
Otherwise you will have to make the opening larger for a new replacement, Lewmar make one which is just slightly larger.

Do you still have the mooring, or know how to get one in the area? I know somebody who may be interested, when he was a child his passion was sailing on Buzzards Bay, and he used to sail with me on my E35 in San Diego Bay when we were in the navy together, but he would need somewhere to keep...
Twenty years ago Morgan Steinmetz took me sailing on Tampa Bay in his E27, Viking hats and all. I have not seen him on here for a while but I hope that all of you in the area still have your boats after all this.

There is nothing for undermining the morale of guests quite like the skipper throwing up over the rail.
It is particularly embarrassing for a skipper who is a naval officer.
And it happened whenever I sailed beyond the shelter of San Diego Bay and Pensacola Bay. The wrist bands which send an...
I forgot to mention that it is worth carrying a metal box, some people use the oven, to act as a Faraday cage for storing electronics inside when a storm is approaching. It needs to be big enough to hold the VHF, GPS, navigation readout, cameras, etc.
Disconnecting the VHF from a masthead...
The two problems with hoping the strike will go down a stay are firstly that the mast is a far better conductor than the much thinner stranded cable, and secondly that if the stay fails after the strike then the mast will fall.
When you watch lightning in the sky you see its path follow the...
