I think it's great the pass them on to be used instead of just scraped like so many old electronics.... When we sold ours three years ago, we were happy to have them go to good use!

on my to do list this spring was to measure the distance from the depth sounder thru hull to the bottom of the keel on our Ericson 32-3 shoal draft (4.33')... of course I forgot as the other to do items filled up the time... I wanted to update our new depth sounder with this information...

we did replace the speed transducer with a new DST800. we used bedding compound last year. We did have a little "wetness" around the fitting so we are going to re-bed it this year with PL 4200, but all in all it worked fine. Just be sure to get it fully packed

We have been using the 4 to 1 as you pointed out by just moving the swapping the blocks, never had a problem. I would worry about maybe bending the boom with a 5 to 1 with a winch!
our biggest issue is moving the traveler under load, but that's another topic :egrin:
we were sailing back from the Lake Michigan Singlehanded Society Double Handed race and Brian, the owner of the 32-3, had the clew of his 155 jib get blown out in a squall in the race! We had removed it the be repaired. The asm is a North A1.5 :egrin:
