    1977 E27 masthead body

After pulling everything out and scraping/blasting away the corrosion you might be surprised how little metal is really missing(corrosion=massive expansion of the base metal). Might look at welding some plates on the outside , after it's straightened, rather than replace the whole masthead. For...

    E-26 New Owner Questions

Here's the site stuff on the E26 from the Resouces tab at the top of the page. http://www.ericsonyachts.org/infoexchange/local_links.php?catid=81 The most important thing to find out about a sailboat, compared to a motorboat, is were you can and can't go on the Great Salt Lake due to the...

Low Oil Pressure Universl 5416, Ericson 30+

So, I really have basically zero oil pressure at the end of the oil passage where the transmitter is fitted. Bet there's a blockage somewhere in the oil gallery ;) Pull the sending unit and stand by with a bucket when it starts.

    Mast Base Plate alignment

I've got a hand tool that's a poor man's drill guide/90* angle guide. It's got a 3/4" thick metal head, with multiple holes up to 1/4" and it's backed with cork so it doesn't slip. Made by Stanley, check your hardware store. You could also predrill a piece of metal bar stock and glue some...

New 1971 Ericson 29 and new sailor to boot

Welcome to the wonderful world of learning on the fly, I remember it well, and there was no Internet to smooth out the learning process. :egrin: One word of caution, before you try starting the engine, remove all of that 3 year old fuel. Nothing good will come of it. IF your area has 10%...

    heavy weather tactics E 38

Been there, done that quite a few times :esad: Prior to having a weather radio on board my earlier Cal 21 we were out on a nice day, becalmed without a motor, and a green wall cloud appeared on the horizon. Could see flapping sails on the horizon, and casually triple reefed the main...
