Dead fuel gauge 33-RH.

Long story short: I need a new sender. Maybe new wires and new gauge too… but the sender (that’s the name of the float apparatus) is definitely bad.

Most marine units work on variable resistance. 240ohms to 33ohm.

When I isolated mine and put it on my meter it read open. Meaning… there was infinite
Resistance because the circuit was broken.

So I measured the depth from the flange to the bottom of the tank (16”) , the size of the hole diameter (1.25”) diameter of of the flange (2.75”) and how many screws, (5). Then off to
Amazon.

We shall see how it goes next few weeks.

I could still have problem with gauge or wireing… but this unit was definitely bad.

Which brand/type sender did you choose? They're pretty simple, ought to come out fine.

Installed this one this spring. Easy install, works fine. Different gauge light colors can be selected !!

This is an eye opener to me. I had not considered using this measurement system for a water tank before. This might become another off season project!
(This sender unit looks exactly like the one that Coastline Tanks installed in our new diesel tank a few years ago.)
