I just wanted to thank all that helped in my decision to install a transom radar mast on my 1973 E-27. I installed a Furuno 1620 with a Edson mast kit. It took around 10 hours for the installation because there were a couple of parts that needed to be fabricated.

Has anyone installed a radar on a 1973 (or there abouts) E-27. I have been told I would have to step the mast at great expense, so now I am looking into putting a radar mast on the transom. Please advise with pros & cons. Also interested in where to put the screen. I have a Furuno 1622 with...
