I finally decided it was time to clean up the ice box covers. All in it took almost 2 weeks, and about 15-20 hours but the end result was very satisfying!
Here’s a 3 minute video time-lapse:
First Step, starting the project. I took home the small cover and started getting an idea of what I...
After a long time of planning it is finally time to do the Frigiboat thing.
We'll be increasing the insulation in the process. I am wondering if we need to make allowances for a drain in the bottom of what will become a freezer-fridge or if I can just seal it and pump out any accumulated...
Well, I've somehow spent amazingly too much time on this, but just can't figure out why my icebox won't drain.
The previous owner mentioned he had a problem with the drain and I noticed it was slow, but wasn't an issue at first. Now, it doesn't seem to go anywhere and I'm using the portable...
Happy new year to all,
I’d like to improve the efficiency of my 30+ year old icebox. Right now it has the original pour-in-place foam. I do not want to take the icebox out. I can get at all but 1 side to replace the foam. Taking off the old and replacing with something new is what I would...
I'm in the process of repairing the galley in my Ericson 27 and need to repair/upgrade the ice box. Have tried to find more info on this site but drew a blank. I would like to install more insulation on the sides and the top. the top is quite poorly constructed with a thin piece of plywood and...
I have a question. Anyone here removed the icebox on 1972/78 - E-32/E35 to replace insulation. Removing the cabinet above the counter top is not a problem. What was involved to remove the counter top ? How it is attached to cabinet ?
We're still going through our "new" E39-B, creating the project list which we'll be working off over the next year or two.
One project is conversion of the ice-box to a fridge/freezer, or at least a fridge. The current standup norcold 12V fridge will be fine while near dock-side but it...
Can anyone tell me the size of the icebox valves under the galley sink on my 35-3? I had one of them break in the closed position and I would like to have the part in hand when going to the boat next. Also, is it fairly easy to R/R them? At first glance it appeared thay are very tight to the...
Does anyone know the construction of the icebox in the ships built in the 70's?
My Norcold plates use too d*** much juice and I'm curious about the wall thickness or lack of in the ice box?
Thanks
John
Our Stbd. icebox drain leaks onto the cockpit sole, requiring plastic bins for the icewater to dump. Does anyone know how to access the icebox drain hose? Dick Elliott.
Anyone tried to "tee in" the ice box drain to the sink drain. Looks like the bottom of the icebox is slightly above the thru hull and it should drain OK.
I'd like to get rid of the icebox draining into the bilge. Of course, one would have to make sure the sink thru hull was closed while...
Where does it go? I mean, where does the end of the hose come out into the bilge? Mine is clogged, and I would like to figure out where the hose goes, in case it's clogged due to a kink.
This is the icebox under the Nav table, next to the door to the head.
We have a 1992 Ericson 34 (built by Pacific Seacraft) with an ice box drain problem. It has a refrigerator to starboard (no problems) and an icebox to port, just aft of the navigator's table.
The problem is the drain in the icebox - which doesn't drain. I can't locate a seacock, rodding it...
