Can you supply more detailed info and additional pics ? At $5k I'm guessing there are some issues that need attention to be seaworthy ?

Dave: The boat is completely seaworthy, the price is due to being 40+ years old. The interior finish is looking old, but otherwise she sails beautifully. I am waiting on some more pictures from my daughter. I put it up for sale last year at $13k, but no one even came out to look at it. I figured I would get some interest developing at a $5k price. The boat is basic without any frills, for example, there is no auto-helm or A/C. Give me a couple of days and I will get some more pictures uploaded. Thanks, Ken

Ken,
You state a Yanmar diesel which wasn't a "normal" option for these boats so I'm guessing it was a replacement. Do you know the history and what model it is ?

Dave: I bought the boat in 2000 from the then second owner. He never said anything about a replaced diesel, so I have been assuming all along that the Yanmar was the original engine, but I have no basis other than the looks of the engine mountings and engine paint color. I know that it is the 16 hp Yanmar, but I would need to get on the boat to get the specific model number. Thanks, Ken

I found more pictures and updated the boat's description. This Ericson 30 1980 sailboat is a great boat for leisure sailors. A comfortable boat with plenty of room for many people! Easy to use roller furling system for the headsail. Storage lockers in the cockpit for extra dock lines, bumpers, hooks, etc. Stern of the boat features a swim ladder and a Life Sling. Included is the boat’s steel cradle for winter storage.

The cabin can sleep six: a convertible table that knocks down to sleep two; full V Birth, single bed to starboard and an aft quarter birth starboard as well. Plenty of storage in the cabin, including a locker before the V Birth. Updated leather interior cushions make for a cool and comfortable sleep!

The galley is equipped with an ice chest, ample storage, and a pump to supply water.

This boat has a 16 HP Yanmar diesel engine that has been maintained regularly to keep in good condition. This boat has only sailed in freshwater, specifically only Lake Erie.

Boat does need some additional work: the cabin floor laminate could be updated, cockpit instruments need reworked and deck hardware should be resealed.
