1987 Ericson 32 What model is it?

I have a 1987 E-32, but I have never been able to figure out what model it is. I have seen some listed as E32-2 and some listed as E32-III and some listed as E32-200. I don't have anything official telling me what model this boat is. The hull number is ERY32710G687. Don't know if that help identify the model. What are the differences between the models?

Short answer:
Head compartment forward = E-32-3.
Head compartment aft = E-32-200.

...and a 32-2 is a very different design, built between 1969 and 1979 IIRC.

The 32-III series started with hull number 601 (HIN = ERY32601...)

And you can compare layouts of 32-3 vs 32-200 at sailboatdata.com.

They're quite different, although the hull is the same.

An additional datapoint - not conclusive but I'll park it here:

I went through the site a while back and cataloged the model/year/hull number of all the 1980's 32s listed in forum-member profiles.

Hulls 711-713, all 1987 boats, were reported by forum-members as 32-IIIs. That implies that your hull (710) is probably a 32-III

Also, from that list
-- the highest hull-number identified as a 32-III is #755, a 1989 boat named "Excelsis"
-- the lowest hull-number identified as a 32-200 is #804, a 1988 boat named "Luna"
It is *possible* that they started the 32-200 series with hull #801, just as they started the 32-III series with hull #601.

So... is your head forward or aft?

Thanks all

From reading these post it appears I have an E32-3. I was never able to figure out when the E32-2 became the E32-3, but apparently that happened long before this boat was built. Thanks again.
