I'm guessing that there's a practical lower boat-size limit for a substantial solar arch. I've noticed some cruisers in 30-footish boats start out with the surfboards & etc on the arch, but eventually the stuff seems to migrate to the lifelines.
Which leads to the thought: Given a handrail solar panel mount, maybe something like a "gun rack" on the inboard side of it could hold pole-like items.
