Actual draft enlightenment

bsangs

E35-3 - New Jersey
We're currently on the hard getting some fresh bottom paint applied and replacing some seacocks, so thought I'd take measurements of a few things, including our "actual" draft. We have the shoal draft, and according to Ericson 35-3 specs, that measures 4'11". So I've been using 5' when plotting and making marina plans. Well, seems I've shortchanged it by about half a foot, as after measuring from where we generally sit in the water when full, it's closer to 5'6". The keel itself is 3'2". Maybe that doesn't seem like much, but am glad I have an accurate number now. Also was surprised to see how close the rudder is to the keel depth. Just a couple inches difference.

Went with black bottom paint this time around. Feeling a little piratey I guess. :) That's the Admiral under there getting some measuring in. Hopefully she's back in the water next week. (The boat, not the Admiral.)
