My 1987 vintage Adler Barbour fridge has not answered reveille this spring. :boohoo: The impression I get is that it is time to bite the bullet and invest in a new unit. I am trying to have a Friend who is an HVAC tech take a look at it, but his agreeing to look at it and getting him to actually look with his bottle of R-12 in hand may be entirely different matter.

I am concerned that a new unit may not fit easily into my E-34 as the catalog info says the VD-150 evaporator is 11" high. I measure the height under the ice box cover to be 10.5" +/-. I also measure the existing evaporator to be 10 3/8" high. I did not have time to investigate if I had a problem with the ice box cover.

Has anyone recently put an A-B unit in an E-34? Any comments about dimension changes for the evaporator?

Adler Barbour is now part of the Dometic Group after Dometic bought Waeco in March. I learned this from Waeco, but haven't been able to make contact with the Dometic people who will now manufacture A-B.
