I'm looking forward to a Spring social event. The Chesapeake Bay Ericson Club I am a member of has been a lot of fun time. I

There is no question that we need to organize some type of gathering in the North East for Ericson owners. Now if we can only get past this pandemic so that we can properly socialize. Time will tell. I have a few good ideas as well as a fun treasure hunt idea in RI area come March to get the blood flowing for the next season. More to come on that based on the state of the pandemic. Last sail of the season this weekend sad to say.

I have seen your very nice Ericson next to my friend’s Eastbay, “Otter”. They went to the dark side but not too dark. We moved our boat up to Marion last weekend, getting ready to haul her out for the season. But before that happens , this weekend’s destination is Hadley for an overnight just in case you are around.
Hey - thanks for saying hi. Sorry to have missed the Hadley trip. We hauled Sel de Mer last weekend, alas. Counting the days til we launch in April. We'll be back in same spot next summah :)

Am I the only one active on here in the north east?

About 29 or 30 years there was a north east "Ericson Regatta" held at Shelter Island NY (between the forks of long island).

Perhaps those of us in the North East should consider doing something similar. Probably Shelter Island, New London, or someplace in Rhode Island would be good spots as they allow not too long of a travel time for folks from either side of those points.
hi Brett, I am new to this group. Where in Brooklyn do you keep your e27? I just purchased an E26 Yanmar1GM10 and will be bringing it to Brooklyn in the Spring. Planning on keeping it at a mooring in Sheepshead Bay. Would like to exchange info and tips and tricks since this is my first boat in Bklyn, first diesel and first Ericson.

Hi Brett
I suggest we get together for a social sail, maybe out on the end of LI or Block. I wouldn't mind reliving some of my more youthful days, and joining a few to tie up to KP and cut the flagpole halyard, or paint the cannons. Either way, I'm up for some Ericson type of fun.

Hello guys,

I started the Chesapeake Bay Ericson Club and will be headed your way the end of May. Heading back to Massachusetts and retirement.

Discovery is an E-30+. we will be leaving The Chesapeake May 22nd and will dive into the LIS if the weather turns or if my brother (co-pilot) wants to say hello to the Statue of Liberty (pretty cool).

We are both Safe Harbor members and there are multiple marinas we can duck into at any point.

Greetings,
I sail on my E29, the Great South Bay of Long Island, and I am a member of the South Bay Cruising Club. I once anchored in the designated area in the flats on the Jersey side near the Statue of Liberty. What a beautiful sight. as the sun when down, the air cleared, the light of Manhattan came up and it was just amazing. There was one other sailboat about 300 yards from us. When felt like NYC was ours alone.
