Any Idea What This Is?

Hello All
We have owned our 36C for about 2 years now. We have the boat in the yard doing some work and the mechanic on the boat does not know what this is. Neither do I.
It’s below the sink (galley) next to the refrigerator. Attached to the hull. Nothing under the boat like Truhull.
Has anyone seen something like this?
Thanks
JC

I agree, the images aren't enough for me to tell.

However, I agree with AdventurousAnt -- if you are asking about the grey thing, it may be an accumulator (a big container whose function is to even out the pressure fluctuations from your water tank pump, so the flow out of the faucet is relatively smooth.) You could tell if that's it by following the hoses going to/from it -- there should be one from the water tank(s -- if there is a 2-way valve upstream, it may be to allow switching from one tank to another if you have two tanks) [PS: the hose would come from the pump, actually; any Y-valve to multiple tanks would be upstream of the pump] and the other should go to the sink faucet. Still, I would think a boatyard mechanic would know what one of those was.

Otherwise, more information would be helpful -- especially, where do the hoses connecting to it come from/go to? That would be a big tipoff.

Thanks for the replies.
the accumulator tank is right above it. I’ve worked in that. No hoses are attached to it. They had someone else just take a look and found a wire attached and it’s filled with an oil. They now seem to think it’s an older sonar that does not penetrate the hull. I told them when I have more time I’ll trace the wire.

Fascinating...and so insanely old-school.
