"Autoprop" questions

While looking thru this prior prop thread, I decided that a new thread might be better, since the Autoprop was only mentioned in passing.

I have a chance to buy a three blade Autoprop at a good price. Having been told by many mechanics that a three blade will be inherently quieter than our two blade featherer, I have been pondering the cost of a three blade ( of some kind...)

The Autoprop is the one from the UK with the rotating blades. They look rather odd up close, but seem to get some good write-ups.

Anyone here have any first or second hand experience with one??

Thanks,
Loren

Tom,
By the time I had read thru the responses on page four, I did indeed learn a bit about props and pitching.... and then my eyes glazed over!
Not being overly-enthused already, this info did not increase my desire for an Autoprop...

The responses of those posters actually is not too unlike the waterfront gossip about the Autoprop I have heard over the years. I guess I shall remain a bit skeptical of its benefits.

Thanks much for the link.

Best,
Loren
