Best way to attach a cleat to mast?

I finally got around to finishing this mercifully quick and easy job. Here's my blog post on it.

I run the spin topping lift down to the turnbuckle of the forward starboard shroud and clip it on when at the dock to prevent din noise. Same with the spinnaker halyard, to the port side. When sailing, I move them to the ring car, when not in use. When in use, they are in use.
