For those of us coming north from US waters, what customs port would be easiest/preferred? Hours to show up?
Any details.... ?

Thanks much,

Canadian Customs is easy. It's a "booth" on the Customs dock with a phone. You take your registration and the passports of any passengers to the booth, pick up the phone and a few minutes later you are on your way with a number to post in a window/port. There are no hours.

You can clear at Victoria, Oak Bay, and Sidney. I like Sidney. It is most convenient.

Loren,

Since you are coming up from Oregon, most likely places to check in would be Victoria, Sydney or Bedwell Harbour, (Poets Cove). Victoria might be a nice stop for the night then up to Sydney Spit or Princess Margaret park and up through Sansum Narrows to Maple Bay. There is great cruising in the Gulf Islands we go there almost every year. The rendezvous is a little early for us to head north but Maple Bay is a great spot I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Another idea on checking in to Canada is to see if there is time to get a Canpass, we have them great way to check in by phone, check with Canadian Customs to see how long it takes to get them.
