Dumb quesrion... Oil drain

I am asking about the size in order to purchase an adapter, to make sure it fits. It looks like a 1/8 NPT. A 1/8 NPT fitting is about 7/16 in diameter... the 1/8 refers to the ID of a steel pipe that it would fit to.

Sid, did you ever figure out which adapter to use? The ID on our drain hose is ~.275".


I used the long thin hose that came with the extraction pump but will be looking for an adapter.

I put off buying one of these because I didn't want more stuff in the garage. Since I bought the boat I'd been using a hand fluid pump hosed into an old oil jug. But the old brass fluid pump came apart. Gotta admit, this was pretty slick and no spills like in the past.
