I thought it would be interesting/potentially useful to create a "Hull Wiki" for my boat model to better markets / common problems etc. I've culled a few boat details names from this site and Yachtworld and present them here. My self-interest is in the 32-3's and 200's. Did Ericson keep a continuous hull numbering from the 32-1 and 32-2 series boats? Seems possible/likely. Maybe someone else knows the answer. Please add info if you wish.

Look what we've already learned - GrandpaSteve and GeoffW's boats are siblings if not twins, now separated by the American continent, once cheek-by-jowl in Costa Mesa....

I thought I could edit my original post and add in additional info, but it seems I can't. @Sean Engle - is there a way to have an update-able file or shared resource for this idea of a "Hull Wiki" to which we can add information as members choose / boats come up for sale?

"The first ERICSON 32 (also known as the SCORPION 32 - 1966) was a completely different boat and was only produced for a short period of time. (See ERICSON SCORPION 32) This, far more popular version, is conventionally referred to as ERICSON 32-2. It began production in 1969 and hull numbers 101 through 573 were built by 1978. The Ericson 32-3 didn't begin production until 1985."

I would have to look into it. Right now the hull id numbers, etc are static fields appended to the User records - so it's pretty simple. The change lockout on edits is a recent change - to prevent folks from systematically coming in and blowing out thread after thread that they've participated in, basically tearing up the database (issue before me right now). I'll take a look at the field and at the options for add-ons for this and get back to you.

Attaching snapshot of market trades from 2017-fall 2019 for 200's. These were all broker trades, and presumably some private market
trades also occurred. I have no idea how many transactions, private or otherwise are missing from the dataset. Trading range is 14K - 31.5K. Seems to be a discount for inland and Texas (could be the same Lone Star boat sold twice, 15 mos apart), and closer convergence for California / Connecticut.

I have 1973 E-32 hull number 296 (CaryOn), Grosse Ile, MI which was shown as a model “II” in the brochure and at the time advertising. I’ve also seen the later 32’s referred to as the “2” model.

I thought there were some minor trim level changes/upgrades between the two, thus a slightly different designation (???). Anybody have any additional information on this and the when of it??

I was a broker (and sailing instructor) for Albatross Yachts the Ericson dealer for SFBay around '73 - '76. I do not recall any formal difference between 32-2 and 32-II. Same for the 35-2 and 35-II. Of course my memory could be foggy.

Still no 1986 E32-3's uncovered. Perhaps the company announced the new version for '85 production, and were overwhelmed by orders? Then they knocked a few more -3's in '87 before the updated 200's started rolling out in '88.
