e34-2 traveller car replacement?

The car on my e34-2 Schaffer traveller is nearing its time. The wheel axle holes on one side are badly worn. The car jumps and gets stuck.

Can anyone point me to a drop-in replacement for this car? I have the 1 1/4" track that curves across the cabin top.

I tried reversing the car no improvement

You might want to call Schaefer.
Alternative plan--While more expensive - potentially in time as well as some money - follow my approach. Our new (2021) Harken track and car has been a nice upgrade. Getting the bend just right is a part of that process for your boat, as others here have found in the past, tho.

@phildogginit - Phil, if you find something, please post here. We've got that ancient car too, tho sounds like it's in better shape than yours. Still, a more rolly car would would make life easier. I really don't relish the prospect of installing a new track.

I'm not sure that I have the same track. It does not look like yours has loose bearings like below. Interesting there are different ways they make these. The blue pieces resemble what the track looks like on my boat.

At any rate, I had a similar issue - the end caps on the harken (old-style is the lower one) were UV fatigued and gave way. I replaced with new style which required blocks.

I have the same traveler system on our boat. The eye strap on the car has worn almost half way thru and I have found it impossible (so far) to remove the bolts that hold it in place so that I can replace it.
In my search for a new car I discovered that Schaeffer only made 11/4" track and components from 87 to 90 so it looks like a drop in replacement is not in our future.

Ronstan still makes cars that fit that track way cheaper than converting to Harken. I think they warehouse a lot of their parts in Europe so parts stay backordered for a bit. Search thru one of Christians blogs about the traveler rebuild.

Those parts look exactly like the Harken temporary "track" fittings provided to facilitate remove the ball bearings (without them getting loose) from the Harken car, in the 80's.
Our 2021 replacement track-car system had been re-designed to retain the bearings. Progress! :)

You might be able to get away with Harken 32mm traveller hardware. 1 1/4" is damn close to 32mm. I'm in the process of looking into this myself. I have found the purchase power of this schaeffer traveller to be inadequate. I'm going to pick the brain of my Harken rep next week at the Newport Boat Show.

I have a Harken 34mm car and ends mounted on 4' of track that was a display in a now shuttered WM store. Had it on the boat yesterday and it looks like the edges on the tracks are angled differently enough that the Harken car wont work.
The boat comes out of the water next month and will give it a try. Otherwise I will probably look into purchasing a new piece of track from Harken and have them bend it.
