E36rh CAD design or model definitions

Hi, Does anyone have a CAD model or engineering model definitions they don't mind sharing for the Ericson36 RH?

I'm looking to refit and do some conversion to be a cruiser on a prospective E36. Having base models to draw changes on would be useful if they exist to share.
Thanks Carlton

Hello Carlton; Thanks for the reply. Just a few days ago I made contact with the engineer who shared the first personal computer I ever saw. .1979. I hadn't spoken to him in 45 years. Hard drive was a tape deck. There is a documentary of Ron Holland where he describes converting software from Porche over to boats. I was running around Shelter Island just three days ago, finalizing new sails, rigger "conferences", etc when by chance I decided to visit this Yacht Design office lodged between two places I was visiting to see what a Yacht design office looked like. There was one guy in there and we swapped stories and such. He had some impressive half models on the walls....turns out I was talking to Ben Nelson, one of Dennis Conner's America cup guys. He pointed to his drafting boards and said he still uses them once in awhile even though the industry shifted to software. I mentioned the test is really bound by penmenship...today's generation would probably appreviate "The quick Brown Fox". I told him I was restoring a 36RH and he noted he just last week was sailing on a 33. I would be interested in knowing what conversions you are thinking of.

regards

I just left the marina a few days ago. The new solar bimini/davits is mostly done (well enough for me to head for warmer weather)
I'll post more online about it that what is already on my channel in a few months(hopefully)
right now i'm focusing on getting the next 1100nmi to below New Orleans

Hello Mark, sorry for the late reply. I got my recalled hip redone after 14 years in November...lucky that they only changed the metal on metal ball with the 2009 recall kit. So I have been attacking safe projects lately. Been having country song making issues lately; Adopted Mexican puppy with bad ACL, Car troubles, more fire prevention...etc. When I bought the boat, the PO bought it as a place holder and secured himself a berth. While a sailor he wasn't attuned to mechanics of the boat. The owner previous to him had set it up for deep water sailing. I think some items were stripped and sold to make dock payments. The biggest problem from the beginning of course was sewage system. Since my use will mostly be light cruising and restricted by current rules, I stripped all the hoses out, tossed all the Y valves, Pulled the tank...my on site measurements were pretty good but later I contacted the Rondo manufacturer since the 36RH tank is not listed. Talked to the supervisor who sent me the original drawing but said the mold was lost in some shed. I am keeping the old tank as it is serviceable and actually has an indentation on the bottom to accommodate thwartship framing. It appears all the tanks were slightly supported by plywood which raised the tank and caused interference problems for. hoses penetrating the bulkhead. I built a tank stand which allows the tank to be slightly lower. I am using poly pipe fittings to minimize hose bends. I am moving the vent loops inboard for full effect. Currently I am running new PEX-A water piping and routing it so I don't have to lift the deck.

I have had a new 135%, Main, Tides Marine, Lazy Jacks, Sail Pack, some running lights.

Right now I have the boat pretty much stripped and am down by the head?? I do have a manual windlass and good anchor but am surprised at this observation. I guess racing boats designed and account for 8 Dennis Conner sized sailors huddled in the small cockpit??

Email me direct with questions if you want.

regards

Rob

I understand Rooster was a wonderful racer, sounds like she has a good custodian to bring her back to life.

My situation is I put money down to hold an 1977 E-36C in Toronto and I live in Mass with a marina in Rhode Island. Plan is to fly up to Toronto the 2nd week of May to finalize purchase and with luck get a sea trial with the owner. Due to previous medical appts., I will have to leave the boat in Toronto until late June so securing a mooring ball is high on my list.

My previous Erficson was a 1983 E-030+. She was good to me for 10 years before we ran into a sea wall in the dead of night off Long Island, she bashed against the rocks for 12 hours before a crew could get to her due to weather conditions.

Now I am gathering information about the E-36C and weather and water conditions on Lake Ontario and dreaming of a long summer cruise.

Join me and others later this month for the virtual meeting, I would like to meet you.
