I have an E 32-2 which I'm restoring, since my outside bulkhead is being patched w/ fbg and finished. I would like to locate a depth/FF and chartplotter near to the wheel. But I do not have a pedestal guard to mount gear, my Traveler is across the deck bridge in front of the pedestal.

I'm interested in knowing if an "angled" guard would work or some other arrangement, instead of the bulkhead area more than 5 feet forward of the helm?

If you have an Edson pedestal you should be all set. You can get the bracket that mounts the guard to the pedestal (one was just on E-Bay), the guard itself, mounting feet, etc right from Edson. Check them out on line or go to your local chanderly. If you have a Yacht Specialities pedestal you might be SOL. I understand the person who purchased all their old stock is no longer in business or has sold all he had. Do a search on this web site & you should be able to find out more about this.

I actually have a Yacht Specialties pedestal, but I'll look over the Edson stuff, for ideas and give them a call for advice, otherwise, I'll check into custom shops or a DIY.
