I'll add my welcome aboard, as well. I have that boom too and always figured it was a spinnaker pole, but maybe not??? Seems too hefty to be a whisker pole, but I'm still learning. My boat came with a spinnaker but I was told by a rigger that it was not set up for a spin at the top of the mast. Not something i've chosen to worry about right now. Also, wanted to add that you might check out the ericson groups on facebook. There is a 27 group and an all inclusive group.

"The boat has a mini boom laying on the front deck presumably for the front sail, when its being used.
Whats the proper way to install/use that mini boom on the front sail?
I have a furler sail on the front currently."

For this, start a new thread in either "Maintenance and Mechanical" or "Design and Function"

Got the A4 running today. Bottom line solution was that the points were gapped way too much.
After much trial and error, was able to get the engine to run mostly smoothly.

Much more to do but at least I don't have a 350lb anchor in the motor box.
