The number is stamped on the hull on the upper starboard corner of the transom, if I recall. Perhaps someone else can and confirm this. My boat is sort of frozen in for the winter at this point.

Yes, exactly correct. And you will need to look closely to read the numbers since it is embossed into the hull, it is not a plate.

On ours there is also one in the shower sump.

Ryan, you're in La Paz? As in Baja? Did I miss something?

Yup... At least for another few days. And we've seen two other 38-200's since getting here! Are you down here?
