Ericson Models?

I had a conversation with a non-sailor about my Ericson 32-3 the other day and at one point he asked if anyone has ever made a scale model of an Ericson 32 or any other Ericson for that matter. I had to confess that I've never seen or heard of a company or individual that made one but it's a big world out there and who knows? Has anyone here ever seen an Ericson model boat? I think I've seen half-hulls someplace but never the full boat with rigging.

Dean Derusha took over Ken Gardiner's model business and has been busy expanding it with a whole range of molds (and 3-D printing options).

And seems to be quite reasonably priced. He lists a number of Ericsons in his catalog.

No idea if those are "stock" items or if he'd have to build from photos, but maybe worth a call.

Derusha Model Marine, (989) 980-9423 (I have no connection, other than trading messages with him to find out if the "32" is a 32-2 or 32-3.)

BTW, for those on Facebook, he's got a page (actually, two). Stuff looks pretty nice. Everything from basic half-hulls to fully kitted-out models painted to match the original, with deck-gear and even to-scale people

I think the plastic models look closer to the real thing! After all, they are plastic boats. I will see if he has or will do a 911! Would love to have a model for the living room.
