Folding, removable companionway door

It started out as a 1-piece hatch board for ease of use when on a mooring or in a slip, fewer pieces to struggle with, faster lock-up and unlocking.

After using it for that and being pretty happy with it we decided it would actually be better if it was a folding door, that could be removed. So we ordered the removable hinges and cut the board vertically. Unfortunately the grain is in the wrong direction for a vertical cut but we'll live with it.

Tomorrow we take it back down and see how it works. The real boards will still be what we'd use when sailing but the rest of the time this might be a more convenient solution ... or I may have overlooked something and it won't work at all :)
