Global warming LOL

As I sit here in temps of 24 degrees in New Bern NC. I am pondering ahead. The question is I need some good ideas for cooling the cabin this summer. I have a 71 32 ft that I lived aboard for the past 2 years. I have tried small ac on a step stool outside the companion way and fans. The way the hatches are set up you can not put a ac on the deck. So any ideas. I am looking for coolness along with if I want to go sailing I dont have to spend an hour or much effort disconnecting hoses and tape.:egrin:

If you get near Baltimore I'll give you one of those AC units that fit in the forward hatch. It works but is a pain so it just sits in the basement. Came with my boat when I bought it.

Air Conditioning

An accessory that came with our I 31;
A small domestic(window type) A/C machine built into one oversized companionway board. Our companionway is three boards, this A/C takes up the equivalent of the bottom two boards and still requires the top board, I guess. I've never tried it but it should be quite effective, in our northern latitudes not really needed.
Still possible to step over it with marginal difficulty, and quick and easy to stow.

As I stand in the outside snow, which is a record this year, and our record breaking cold winter, I am grateful for global warming as I could have frozen to death here near Detroit! :rolleyes:

Come on down

These are the temperatures here at 2:03 pm today. Bring sunscreen and we'll sail out to the grounded tanker for a class in reading charts.
