Twenty years ago Morgan Steinmetz took me sailing on Tampa Bay in his E27, Viking hats and all. I have not seen him on here for a while but I hope that all of you in the area still have your boats after all this.

More than a year ago my first mate and I went for a Tampa Bay sail with Penny and Rob (who maybe members on this web site) on their E32-3 out of the St Petersburg marina. Also wishing that they’re safe. We had plans on going back to St Pete Beach next week but obviously that’s not happening now. All we can do is send relief dollars, supplies and prayers to the folks in Florida and western NC. Stay strong!

Thanks for thinking about us Bob. Miraculously our boat (Bumbugo) made it through tropical storm Deby, and back to back hurricanes - Helene and Milton. Helene brought an over 8' storm surge and Milton sucked water out of the bay but we had over 110 mph winds. The direct hit of the center of the storm was just south of the mouth of Tampa Bay. We were very lucky.

What great news about your well being after these horrible storms! I can’t imagine a 8 foot storm surge. Hope the recovery in your area goes well.
