Securing Jack lines
Thanks for all the info on this thread. I have another question, somewhat related. How does one secure the jackline in the best way to either a cleat or the padeye? We have a web type jackline and appropriately placed padeyes on the cockpit coamings aft of the winches. I am just unsure about the best technique to secure the looped end....probably just with the loop through the bow cleat, and the straight end of the jackline. Do I knot that directly through the padeye or use another line? If so, what knot type is best?
