LA area get-together in May?

Good evening folks,

I was reminiscing about missing Christian's event last year ( I didn't even see it until it was over). So I've been thinking...

Laule'a will have been part of my life (as you all are) for nearly a year now as of May 8th. While the boat is torn apart currently ( I will put it back together, I will, I will, I will!), the thought occurred to me to ask if there might be any interest in some kind of group event this coming May?

I'm open to an Avalon trip (or Two Harbors, or ?). It also could be sailing to the public docks in Long Beach, and then having lunch.

Two Harbors will not have their winter rates (pay 2 get 5 free) in force at that time. (Those expire on April 13.) Avalon's pay 4 get 3 free rates run from April 13 to June 15. Of course, that's only helpful if you decide to block out 5 days to a week, which is what I try to do in order to take advantage of these rates.

I stay in the string mooring as they never fill up so I don’t reserve and save the online transaction fee. Even 4th of July I just pull in to my usual #27. One of the few perks of a small boat.

I would definitely be up for a trip in May, my only problem is time. I almost don’t have any these days! But the further out the date, the easier it is for me to plan around it. It might be my first solo trip so I would not mind to buddy with another boat.

I've never found a need to use the reservation service--ever. And certainly not in May, when you basically have the run of the place.

I can do a weekend in May (June though, I have vacation). With the time change, getting there Friday night is less of a midnight ride. I'm not sure how predictable the fog is in May.
