I can now speak directly to what is underneath the mast. A non-stainless steel plate underneath that is a very thin film of fiberglass mat underneath that is a half inch of ply underneath that is solid fiberglass to the top of the cabin where the post is running to the bottom of the hull. I chose to remove the plywood and I’m gonna be adding G 10 to replace both plywood very thin film of fiberglass and steel plate.
